The Department of Neurosurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking to recruit an exceptional academic physician and leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery.

The new Chair will report to the Physician-in-Chief, and will have overall responsibility for strategy, program development and operations for the Department of Neurosurgery. Memorial Sloan Kettering's neurosurgeons perform over 800 brain tumor operations annually. The Chair of Neurosurgery will oversee growth and development of clinical programs and will support groundbreaking clinical and translational research. The Chair of Neurosurgery will work to shape the strategic and programmatic priorities for the Department, focusing on talent acquisition and retention, research portfolios, grant funding, professional development and mentorship. The administrative infrastructure available in the Department will allow the Chair to maintain both a clinical practice and an independent research program.

Qualified candidates should be Board Certified Neurological Surgeons who are nationally recognized clinicians as well as leaders in clinical, translational or population science. Candidates must meet the requirements for licensure in New York State.
