Academic Physician trained in any discipline of Internal Medicine

The Department of Internal Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, invites applications for a Full-time Academic Physician trained in a Sub-specialty of Internal Medicine. The position requires a strong history of dedication to the education of osteopathic medical and health professions students. Strong leadership skills are a must to propel an already innovative curriculum into its next stages of development. The applicant should have a record of scholarly activity and sustained accomplishments in clinical or translational research. Upon entering this position the selected candidate will serve as the Chairperson for the College‚Äôs Department of Internal Medicine. The Chairperson will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills and a zeal for providing excellent clinical care to his or her patients.

The successful candidate must possess a DO degree, AOA board certification (or AOA board eligibility) in Internal Medicine, a minimum of five years clinical experience in medicine with at least three years of leadership in an academic medicine setting. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for unrestricted licensure in the state of California and have a current drug enforcement agency (DEA) certificate. Academic rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Preferred disciplines include Gastro, General IM, and Pulmonology, however, all specialties are encouraged to apply.
