Job Details

Guthrie Medical Group is seeking a well-trained Electrophysiologist to join an established electrophysiology program.

As with any knowledge-based industry, Guthrie recognizes that people are our most precious resource. Therefore, our chief goal is to attract physicians who appreciate the idea of working on a team; who enjoy being surrounded by extraordinary colleagues who are all interested in providing the very best patient care possible.

With its financial stability and integrated clinical care model, Guthrie is structured with an organizational design and function that provides the flexibility necessary to adroitly handle the healthcare changes that lie ahead. Guthrie is a collegial, physician-led, integrated delivery system that offers its 274 physicians opportunities for leadership, research, advancement and a work/life balance that others only dream of.

Our cardiovascular team includes 13 cardiologists, as well as advanced practice clinicians, 3 cardiothoracic surgeons, and vascular surgery. In addition, we are now in the sixth year of our Cardiovascular Fellowship Training Program with 6 Cardiovascular Fellows in Sayre, PA. The cardiovascular team is part of the larger Guthrie Clinic which is an integrated health care organization with some 32 satellite clinics and 4 hospitals. The Clinic is over 100-years old and has a total of 500 clinicians in the practice. We employ the EPIC electronic health record. As mentioned, a cardiovascular fellowship is in place in addition to resident teaching in internal medicine, surgery, and family medicine. We also have an active clinical research program employing both multi-center clinical research trials as well as investigator initiated protocols.  Our imaging systems are state-of-the-art. All of the primary care sites are now Level 3 NCQA accredited patient centered medical homes and we are active in population health management.

The Electrophysiology Department was established in 1990 and offers comprehensive electrophysiological procedures including complex ablations.  Guthrie electrophysiology service is well recognized in our region.  We are seeking growth and expansion in the area. The prospective candidate will be an independent operator, board certified in Cardiology and Electrophysiology, preferably with 2 years of experience.

Please consider joining this elite cardiovascular center program, which has been recognized as a Truven Top 50 Cardiovascular Program for ten of the last fourteen years.
