The University of Maryland School of Medicine's Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Faculty appointment will be commensurate to experience. Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest and experience in the clinical management of hepatitis C, HIV, and opioid use disorder. The position will be involved in providing outpatient clinical care and conducting clinical research with the DC Partnership for HIV/AIDS Progress (DC PFAP) Hepatitis Clinical Research Program based in Washington, DC. Applicants must be board-certified in Internal Medicine. Candidates board eligible or board certified in infectious diseases preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in opioid substitution therapy preferred but not required. Responsibilities will include providing comprehensive clinical care in outpatient settings to patients with HCV infection. Major interests of the IHV Clinical Research Division include chronic viral pathogenesis, viral immunoregulation, and the development and clinical evaluation of immunological, gene therapeutic and novel biological approaches to therapy of chronic human viral pathogens. Viral pathogens of programmatic interest include HIV, HTLV-I/II, HPV, HCV, and HSV-6.
