  Geisinger Health System is seeking a director of pediatric endocrinology for Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center, located in Danville, Pa.

Join a team of 4 pediatric endocrinologists, plus an advanced practitioner and two certified diabetes educators, dedicated to patient-centered, high quality medical care.

    Opportunity is 75% outpatient and 25% inpatient care with 90% focusing on clinical work and 10% administrative
    Offering a 5-day work week (M-F) 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with inpatient rounds for call on weekend; call schedule is 1:6
    Average 12-15 patients per day; patient mix is 62% Diabetes and 38% Endocrine
    Utilizes a mature, fully-integrated EPIC electronic health record, connecting a comprehensive network of 30 community medical groups located throughout Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania
    Academic responsibilities include some teaching to residents and medical students
    Clinical research is encouraged but not required

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), located Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.  GMC, a MagnetHospital, maintains the region’s only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women’s health (in the Women’s Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics.  The Hospital for Advanced Medicine serves as an integrated center for the most critical patients. Outpatient services are available on and off campus.

Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (JWCH), located on GMC’s campus in Danville, is the region’s only dedicated 5 floors, 89 bed children's hospital with a full-service hospitalist program. JWCH provides medical malpractice insurance with tail coverage.
