We are currently seeking a per diem, part-time, or full-time Attending Psychiatrist to serve as Chief Psychiatric Consultant for Northwell Health’s nationally-recognized Unified Behavioral Health Center for Military Veterans and their Families.

Unique Opportunity:

  • Serve as the Chief Psychiatric Consultant at the Unified Behavioral Health Center caring for patients connected to the military and veteran community.
  • Primary responsibility for medication management of a mixed caseload of adults and children.
  • Participation in interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Refine/develop expertise in trauma psychiatry
  • Enjoy a flexible schedule- 1 or 2 days per week, 6 to 12 hours per day.
  • Select either hourly compensation or Part Time/Full Time with benefits (combined with patient care at nearby Medical hospitals)
  • Academic appointment, teaching, and publication opportunities.

Outstanding compensation packages:

  • Excellent hourly rate for Per Diem physicians - nationally competitive.
  • Salaried benefits include up to 4 weeks of vacation, 8 paid holidays, 1 week paid conference and fully funded MBA.

Located in vibrant Bay Shore, walking distance from train station.

  • Qualified candidates must be BC/BE in General and Child Psychiatry and licensed in NY State.
  • Experience with military service members/veterans and families is a plus.

Located in Bay Shore, Long Island, the Center represents a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership between a VA Medical Center and a not-for-profit health system to evaluate and treat veterans and their family members (including children) under one roof, with a cross-talk methodology to optimally treat the family unit. The Center has received recent Congressional attention and was evaluated by the RAND Corporation as this model of care offers a unique, collaborative effort towards advancing behavioral health for military/veteran families.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
