The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a specialist in Cardiac Electrophysiology. Preference given to candidates who are Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certified/Eligible in Electrophysiology. Rank and track dependent upon qualifications and experience. The ideal candidate will be at the Associate Professor level, although graduating fellows will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to be comfortable with the range of invasive cardiac electrophysiology procedures, with a special interest in management of ventricular arrhythmias, and experience in catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia being a major plus. We expect that the successful candidate will help build our established ventricular tachycardia program and expand it to regional prominence.
Responsibilities will include outpatient cardiology (both in Chapel Hill and potentially at an outreach location), attending on inpatient cardiology services, performing procedures in the EP laboratory, and teaching of cardiovascular fellows and EP cardiology fellows. Major responsibilities of this position include building a referral practice. Willingness to do outreach including off-site clinics (possibly at multiple locations) and EP procedures at an outside hospital are important. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The Heart and Vascular Service Line at the University of North Carolina facilitates collaboration in teaching, research, and patient care among specialists in cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and interventional radiology. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across all divisions of Heart and Vascular and the Department of Medicine to facilitate services and achieve organizational objectives in program development, exceeding quality and customer service standards.
