The Hematology, Oncology & Transplantation Division, and the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, are seeking an academic physician with training and experience leading clinical trials in cancer, malignant hematology, or blood and bone marrow transplant.

This individual will assume a leadership role in the development, implementation, and supervision of innovative clinical trials in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology and transplantation therapy. As Medical Director of the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) in the Masonic Cancer Center, the successful candidate will lead an experienced staff and supervise faculty members involved in interventional cancer clinical trials managed by the CTO. Responsibilities include oversight of efficient feasibility assessments for trial planning, implementation, and execution of cost-effective and efficient clinical trial operations, and represent the CTO in discussions with other research partners at the University. This position will work with the University’s Clinical Translational Science Institute for efficient, shared trial support responsibility. This position will provide opportunities for broad-based collaborations and external research funding. This individual will also participate in the inpatient and outpatient clinical care of hematology/oncology patients as well as teaching of medical students and post-graduate trainees.

Candidates must have an MD, have completed residency in Internal Medicine, and have formal subspecialty training and board certification/board eligibility in Medical Oncology or Hematology with specific experience in clinical trial execution and direction. Board certified medical oncologists are desired. The clinical-scholar track appointment will be at the Associate or Professor level with compensation commensurate with experience. Assistant Professors eligible for promotion with at least five years’ experience may also be considered for this position. With appropriate qualifications, tenure-track appointment could be available.
