DIRECTOR of CARDIAC IMAGING

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure Clinical Scholar track. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide leadership to a growing and well-integrated cardiovascular imaging program, along with providing leadership in a high volume, high quality, and ACAEL-certified echocardiographic laboratory. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership abilities with a successful career in cardiac imaging research.

Qualification and Essential Functions:

  • Applicants must have an MD or MD/PhD degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care
  • Applicants must be Board Certified in Cardiology and Echocardiography, with level 3 certification in Cardiac MR Imaging
  • Scholarship is required in the Clinical Scholar track; candidates must have experience in imaging research and a track record of academic productivity
  • Level III training and expertise in noninvasive cardiac imaging, including subspecialty training in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography is required. Training in CT, nuclear, and vascular imaging desirable but not required
  • Mentoring and teaching of medical students, house staff, and cardiology fellows
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinary program, and aspire to interface multiple imaging modalities in cardiovascular clinical care and research
  • Recruitment and leadership of non-invasive cardiac imaging faculty, and leadership of a dynamic and collaborative enterprise in cutting-edge imaging research

Secondary clinical responsibilities will be based on interest and could include consultative cardiology or other inpatient attending duties. The current cardiac MR and CT programs are tightly integrated in a highly cooperative structure with cardiothoracic radiology. Opportunities exist for collaboration with state-of-the art imaging, medical physics, and translational research programs.
