Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) is seeking a physician-scientist of international stature for the position of Vice-Chair for Research in the Department of Pediatrics. The ideal candidate must have an outstanding record of academic accomplishment, with vision to integrate and advance scientific discovery applicable to pediatric oncology. MSKCC has placed a high priority on this position and views it as critical to advancing MSKCC’s continuing leadership and innovation in the overarching domains of cancer care, research, and education.

This position will identify translational scientists across a diversity of disciplines to build the pre-eminent pediatric oncology research program. The laboratory-based program will be expected to integrate seamlessly with the Department’s world-class clinical research program, as well as an extensive number of centers of research excellence across MSKCC. The successful candidate should have a vision about how to leverage areas of existing strength at MSKCC (genomics, epigenetics, cellular therapies, immuno-oncology, developmental therapeutics) and new recruitments that will empower new innovations for patients with pediatric malignancies. The Vice-Chair will be a critical part of the departmental leadership team.

Candidates must have a strong record of achievement as a physician-scientist and/or translational scientist in a field allied with pediatric oncology. Applicants must have a demonstrated record of academic accomplishment, including a track record of high impact publications and successful NIH funding.

This full-time position provides a unique opportunity for a blend of leadership, research, teaching/mentorship, and program development. This search is open to potential faculty at senior levels of career experience. Appointments will be made at an academic level commensurate with the appointee’s experience. A parallel appointment as Professor of Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College will be available. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.
