The Brooklyn Hospital Center is also a clinical affiliate of the Mount Sinai Hospital and an academic affiliate of The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

An opportunity currently exists for an exemplary leader to facilitate departmental and enterprise-wide goals related to quality, safety, compliance, growth, service programing, physician education/trainingm and the use of electronic medical records. Explore this role in the Pediatric Department replete with numerous inpatient sub-specialties and outpatient clinics.

The physician chosen will help build the Department, the culture, and rapport with physicians, other administrators, and community-based organizations. He/she will lead residency and fellowship programs in Pediatrics; expand and strengthen the realm of operations, programs, and integrated practice settings; and develop/improve joint services. Will also monitor budgets and capital equipment purchases and develop clinical and geographically aligned services.

This Chair must have:

  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Specialty or Subspecialty
  • Current NYS license or ability to obtain NYS license
  • At least five years ofclinical practice experience, plus three or more years of experience in a clinical leadership role
  • High level of organizational, project management, team building, and inter-disciplinary communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and motivate collaborators, and to build a culture of quality, efficiency, and responsiveness
  • Qualification for academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine
