Deputy Editor of Infectious Diseases

It is a flagship product of EBSCO Health, a leading provider of clinical decision support solutions and medical research information for healthcare professionals worldwideDynaMed’s mission is to provide the most useful information to healthcare professionals at the point-of-care.

DynaMed is seeking a full-time Deputy Editor of Infectious Diseases. The Deputy Editor will be the head of a publishing group that encompasses infectious diseases and immunology, acting as the chief content authority over these specialty areas. He/she will be a strategic leader who will develop a vision for the specialty content across DynaMed Plus, leading topic creation, enhancement, and maintenance efforts. The Deputy Editor will drive collaboration between his/her team of clinical and medical writers and editors, and other publishing groups. He/she will also recruit and retain a network of external physician editors and peer reviewers.

Skills 
Required Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) with license/certification current and in good standing
  • Specialty board certification
  • > 10 Years of direct patient care experience, and willingness to maintain ongoing clinical activities
  • > 2 Years of experience as team leader or project leader
  • Critical appraisal and statistical skills sufficient to analyze clinical relevance of all study types
  • Demonstrated understanding/use of principles of evidence based medicine and use of health information technology to support clinical decision-making
  • Knowledge of PubMed searching strategies
  • > 2 Years of experience with MS Office Suite including Word (with use of track changes) and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a breadth and depth of knowledge in the field as demonstrated by clinical leadership roles, teaching, research, and a publication track record. A demonstrated expertise in evidence-based medicine and health information technology is strongly preferred.
