Medical Chief for Neurosurgery and the Neuroscience Institute

BHSF, a large not-for-profit healthcare provider with eight hospitals (increasing to ten by the end of 2017), with more than 30 medical plazas, urgent care and outpatient facilities spanning three counties from Fort Lauderdale to the Florida Keys, 2,500 physicians on the medical staffs, and an integrated medical group exceeding 250 physicians, is seeking to hire a Chief of Neurosurgery and the Neuroscience Institute to lead the medical staff comprised of neurosurgeons, physiatrists, and affiliated neurologists to assure the organization a long-term position of strength and preeminence in the region's healthcare. While all units offer state-of-the-art surgical facilities, the two largest hospitals in the System provide all necessary equipment and highly professionally trained nursing and support staff for brain, spinal, and other neurosurgical and endovascular procedures, including intraoperative MRI. Baptist Hospital has been certified by the Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

The successful candidate will have a record of academic achievement and accomplishment in clinical or translational science research. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional teamwork, leadership, and mentorship abilities.

Eligible candidates must be fellowship trained in neurosurgery with an emphasis on brain tumors and/or skull base tumors, board certified or board eligible in neurosurgery, and able to meet medical licensure requirements in the State of Florida.
