The University of Chicago's Department of Pathology invites applications for a faculty member and Vice Chair of Pathology for Research and Academic Affairs. The position will report directly to the Chair of Pathology and will assist in recruiting and retaining research faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research laboratory, mentor junior faculty as they acquire external funding, support and expand translational research with clinical faculty and trainees, encourage collaborative research with other departments at the University of Chicago, and advise the Chair on promotion and retention of faculty. Candidates must possess an MD, PhD, or foreign equivalent degree, have a track record of substantial funding, and must qualify for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Non-clinicians must also qualify for tenure.
