Chair of Pathology

Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso (TTUHSC) seeks a dynamic leader who will assume the position of Chair of Pathology. The new Chair will be the academic and clinical leader of the Department of Pathology reporting to the Dean and President of TTUHSC El Paso. Together with other department chairs, the Chair will play an instrumental role in helping the Dean establish a commitment to leadership, vision, establishing a graduate medical education program, maintaining excellent undergraduate education, and delivering excellent clinical services for the Department of Pathology.

TTUHSC consists of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, The Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and an emerging School of Dental Medicine. As an independent university, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso will benefit regional priorities by promoting access to health care and attracting more physicians and healthcare professionals to the area. Through unique partnerships with the military, the hospital district, a research foundation, and for-profit hospitals, the University will also be able to focus its research efforts on diseases affecting Hispanic and border populations and provide quality care in a medically underserved region.

Candidates must be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and qualified for a faculty appointment at the rank Professor (preferable) or Associate Professor. Successful candidates will have demonstrated administrative experience and strong leadership skills and an outstanding record of accomplishment in growth and development of a vibrant department. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to build on the success of this Department with a commitment to quality, service, education, and research.
