Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions

The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences

The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences invites applications for the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions. This position reports to the Vice Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, and represents the College of Medicine and Life Sciences to internal and external constituents. The successful candidate must possess an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree, recent higher education administrative experience working with students within a college of medicine, and knowledge of higher education and its practices and procedures.

The principle duties and responsibilities of this position include but is not limited to supervision of all Assistant Deans and Directors in the offices of Student Affairs and Admissions; responsible for overseeing all aspects of the admissions process for the MD program; responsible for overseeing all admissions pathways to the MD program; liaison with the Dean, Vice Dean, other Associate Deans, and other members of the College of Medicine Senior Leadership Team on initiatives that overlap one or more student related areas; develop and implement yearly College of Medicine recruitment goals for the MD program and coordinate the recruitment calendar; oversee the review and awarding of available scholarships for students in each entering class; oversee all policies and procedures related to College of Medicine Student Affairs and Admissions; oversee Academic Advising for all MD students; complete the Medical Student Performance Evaluations for all senior medical students; provide oversight of Career Counseling and Advising; provide oversight to over 50 Health Science Student Organizations as well as the Honor Code Committee, Medical Student Council, Community Care Clinics student organization, and AAMC Organization of Student Representatives (OSR); provide oversight for the Health Science Campus Student Service Center; liaison with the Health Science Campus Registrar; liaison with the Office of Financial Aid; institutional Liaison to AAMC, National Residency Matching Program, San Francisco Match, American Urological Association Match and National Board of Medical Examiners; provide oversight for transformational events; provide authorship and other contributions for submissions to the LCME and other accrediting bodies relating to admissions oversight, the admissions office, and student affairs.
