Physician II – Pain Management & Addiction

In this full-time role, you will provide services to patients in the Pain and Functional Restoration Clinic (PMFRC) with Alameda Health System. You will focus on problems with chronic pain, prescription drug dependency, and addiction. Services may be provided in more than one location. You will also assist in the administrative and professional direction of the Pain Management and Addiction specialty service as well as provide consultative services in that specialty. In addition, you will be assigned as an administrative and professional assistant to the Chief of Pain Management and Addiction and when specifically assigned, may relieve the Chief of Service in their absence. This is a great opportunity to gain mentorship, become certified in addiction medicine, and grow further in a leadership role.

Ideal candidates will be coachable, reflective, and open to feedback. Primary care level experience in pain management, functional restoration, referral for interventional treatment and assessment, and treatment of addiction would be important entry-level expertise as would familiarity with integrative, complementary, and alternative medical approaches. The willingness and competency to learn and practice motivational interviewing in new contexts is a plus.

Qualifications include:

  • Completion of an approved residency.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
