Job Details

The Northwell Health Department of Human Genetics and Genomics is seeking  five Board Certified/Board Eligible Geneticists at all academic ranks, to bring the total number of faculty members to eight. It is the intention of Northwell Health to expand significantly our clinical and translational genetics and genomics programs in order to use genetics as a catalyst to transform care for all of our patients and families. We are particularly interested in physicians and physician-scientists dedicated to a career in academic medicine.

Northwell Health is one of the largest healthcare providers in the country, serving much of the New York metropolitan area, Long Island, and Westchester. Our region is considered to be the most ethnically and socioeconomically diverse in the country. Our physicians care for patients with a wide variety of genetic conditions, and we work very closely with the obstetricians throughout the Northwell system who are responsible for about 40% of all births in New York state. We are also the major teaching affiliate of the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, and we have recently formed a partnership with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, expanding considerably our collaborative clinical and translational research portfolio.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. In addition, an academic appointment with the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine is commensurate with credentials and experience. Physicians will be employed as members of Northwell Physician Partners, the seventh largest medical group in the country. Candidates will have immediate access to a team of highly experienced real estate professionals who will provide neighborhood tours and community profiles, including school, transportation, and housing information.
