The Department of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center invite applications for the position of Chief, Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology and Deputy Director of the Boston University School of Medicine Cancer Center. The Hematology and Medical Oncology program at Boston University School of Medicine has a longstanding history of research, education, and clinical innovation, with a focus on caring for unique patient populations, a track-record in prevention and early detection of cancer, and commitment to precision genomic medicine. The section includes 35 faculty members and 25 clinical fellows, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students. Boston University ranked 30th in the United States for NIH cancer research funding.

The new Chief will provide outstanding leadership to the clinical, teaching, and research programs within the Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology. The Chief will lead and build clinical programs of excellence and establish high quality, evidence-based hematology and medical oncology practices. In this role, the Chief will recruit top faculty; develop and enhance educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows; and expand patient care programs and resources. In addition, the Chief and Deputy Director will establish collaborative research partnerships within the department, medical center, university, cancer center, and external commercial and nonprofit organizations. The Chief will pursue innovation and excellence in each of the core missions of the section.

The successful candidate must be a board certified hematologist or oncologist, recognized as a committed professional in the world of academic clinical cancer care and research, with demonstrated leadership experience in an established multidisciplinary cancer program. A dedication to providing high quality, comprehensive care to all, particularly mindful of the needs of the vulnerable populations, is required.
