MDA seeking new Chief Medical & Scientific Officer.

Significant progress is underway with neuromuscular disease as the Muscular Dystrophy Association continues to innovate, think bolder, and accelerate rapid growth, producing life-saving results for individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy and other related diseases. MDA-sponsored research and clinical trials at MDA Care Centers have resulted in breakthrough therapies and technologies that are only anticipated to grow in volume and accelerate in the next several years. MDA is committed to playing a leading role to accelerate therapy and drug development via ongoing basic, translational, and clinical research investments, enhanced clinical care and research at MDA Care Center Network members, and continuing to work with their biopharma partners.

To lead this body of work, MDA is currently recruiting a new Executive Vice President, Chief Medical and Scientific Officer to continue this legacy as well as provide leadership and advocacy with the FDA, NIH, and other federal agencies and regulatory bodies. This exciting and challenging role will provide leadership to a diverse team of scientific, clinical, and allied health professionals. MDA is seeking an MD or a Ph.D. with clinical drug development experience - ideally in neuromuscular disease, who can provide technical guidance and leadership. Most importantly, the new Chief Medical & Scientific Officer needs to be a strong collaborator with MDA executive staff and Board of Directors, peer organizations, professional societies, pharmaceutical companies, federal agencies and the like.
