Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a skilled, team-oriented, compassionate physician to join our expanding Palliative Medicine & Comprehensive Care service. IFMC is a nationally recognized 933-bed tertiary referral center, level 1 trauma center located outside Washington, DC. The Campus consists of the Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute. Our current team includes three physicians, two nurse practitioners, two social workers, a chaplain, and a program manager. We are adding a physician and an additional nurse practitioner to our existing team. We provide palliative care consultations throughout the entire campus.

We strive for clinical integration across the campus and participate on a variety of committees including the LVAD/Heart Transplant committee, Cancer committee, Ethics committee, Critical Care Oversight committee, MSET/Rapid Response committee, Internal Medicine Residency Clinical Competency committee, Medicare Bundle Task force, among others. Our team leads Schwartz Center Rounds® for the entire campus, and takes a variety of medical students, residents, and fellows, in addition to social work interns, nursing, and pharmacy learners. Our team provides expertise at the health system level to continue to transform care delivery.

We are seeking a physician BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. This position will provide clinical expertise and mentorship within our team, grow collaborative relationships with medical departments to enhance and inform primary palliative care delivery, and engage in ongoing quality improvement and leadership.
