Attending Psychiatrist - Early Onset Disorders (Zucker Hillside Hospital)

Exciting opportunity on inpatient psychiatry unit dedicated to college students and young adults, including ‘first episode’ patients. This unit serves as a primary setting for psychiatry resident and medical student training. Northwell’s Behavioral Health College Partnership (BHCP) is an inpatient/outpatient collaboration between Zucker Hillside Hospital (of Long Island Jewish Medical Center) and 50+ regional colleges and universities. BHCP is anchored by this 20-bed inpatient unit in Zucker Hillside’s new Behavioral Health Pavilion, an architecturally striking facility with design features that complement our state-of-the-art clinical care.

We are recruiting for an academically-oriented psychiatrist interested in the college-age spectrum, early-onset serious illness, and borderline personality disorder. Completion of a child/adolescent psychiatry fellowship preferred. Special interest in and aptitude for teaching and supervising junior psychiatry residents, medical and nursing students, and psychology externs, interns, and post-docs is a prerequisite for this team leadership role in a highly innovative and desirable training milieu. Activities will also include helping to develop a novel program in tele-psychiatry to university Student Counselling Centers.

Competitive salary, benefits, and perquisites highlight our employment package. Appointment at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine commensurate with background and experience. Long Island Jewish Medical Center is located approximately 15 miles from Manhattan and short distances from diverse Long Island-based recreational activities (e.g. beaches, biking, parks).
