Academic Epidemiology Opportunity in Southern California
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases has an immediate opening for a full-time faculty to fill the position of Hospital Epidemiologist. Qualified candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Infectious Diseases and specialty trained in Epidemiology. We welcome the application of Fellows in training and mature physicians. This is a full-time Epidemiology position, with services provided to the hospital from the Division of Infectious Disease. We are heavily involved in medical student and resident education. The Epidemiologist will participate in the teaching activities of the Division and in the after-hours call rotation. Clinical Infectious Disease consultation will be necessary at times.
Our campus includes a Center for Spiritual Life and Wholeness, and a Global Health Institute. In this vein, the Infectious Diseases Division is involved in mentoring and managing the Tropical Medicine Elective, the Global Service Pathway, the HIV Pathway, and the International elective for Internal Medicine residents. Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group is affiliated with Loma Linda University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital and School of Medicine with the mission to deliver whole-person care at a world class level of clinical excellence. The Medical Center and Children’s Hospital has one of the largest academic teaching and clinical programs in the United States and serves a population of approximately 3.5 million people.
Loma Linda University is located East of Los Angeles known as the Inland Empire. The beaches of Newport, Laguna, and Malibu are only 60-90 minutes to the West, with superb swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and sailing. Also 60 minutes to the West is downtown Los Angeles, with its top-quality restaurants, world-renowned museums, opera, and other cultural opportunities. The Big Bear Mountain Ski resort is about one-hour drive from LLU. The golf courses, shopping, and spas of Palm Springs are a 60-minute drive to the East, and World-class Mammoth Mountain resort is a six-hour drive to the North.
