Description:
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans, is seeking a full-time academic Pediatric Endocrinologist at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) to join our faculty group, with rank and salary to be determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience.
The Division is the largest Pediatric Endocrine/Diabetes Program in the Gulf South, and has an AAP accredited fellowship program. Primary work location is the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans (247 beds), the only full-service, free-standing hospital for children in Louisiana and the primary pediatric teaching hospital for the LSUHSC system. The division also conducts outreach at clinics in Metairie, Covington, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Clinical duties will include both inpatient and outpatient management of general endocrine and diabetes patients, as well as participation in the academic and teaching missions of the division. There are abundant opportunities for educational, clinical, translational, and quality, and outcomes research initiatives across the health sciences center.
The Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Endocrinology are located predominantly at Children's Hospital of New Orleans. Children’s Hospital is Louisiana’s only free standing children’s hospital. The 247-bed tertiary care teaching and clinical care complex is located in the heart of New Orleans. Children’s is in the beginning stages of a five-year and $225 million expansion project.
Qualifications
- MD or MD/PhD or equivalent
- Board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana by start date
