Job Details
Since 1977, over 11,000 heart surgeries have been performed at Children’s Minnesota. Our mature cardiac & cardiac surgery program performs 400-500 surgical cases and transfers 8-10 patients on average to other hospitals for transplant consideration each year. We already have the pieces in place including a transplant surgeon and program manager to have an extremely successful and high volume transplant program. With skilled design and leadership, this program will be the dominant transplant program in the region in a very short period of time.
- As Medical Director, Heart Transplant Program, you will have the autonomy to build this program to your specification with our own built-in referrals.
- Children’s Minnesota, in collaboration with The Children’s Heart Clinic, is the only facility in the region that offers 24/7 onsite care by pediatric cardiac intensivists and boasts a 97% survival rate.
- Our 26-bed admission-to-discharge unit is the only pediatric cardiovascular care center in the upper Midwest with all services conveniently located on a single floor in a single building: PACU designed specifically for cardiology, two cath labs, two ORs, recovery area, ECMO offices, 100 cardiology-trained nurses, leadership offices, a state-of-the-art cardiology conference center and simulation center.
