The Department of Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a Chief to lead our experienced and well-respected Division of Internal Medicine-Pediatric physicians. The Division currently has eight faculty members based in a thriving off-site primary care office that serves as the continuity clinic for its 16 Med-Ped residents. It is also the home of a newly accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship. With a faculty increasingly involved in a wide variety of academic endeavors, the Division needs a new leader to foster its strong residency program, to complete its transformation into a patient-centered medical home, and to continue its commitment to teaching and research. The successful applicant will bring a track record of leadership in clinical and educational enterprises; and experience in programmatic development. Experience in the medical home model of care would be desirable. It is anticipated that the future Chief will be Associate Professor or Professor-level eligible. Albany Medical College is one of the nation's oldest medical schools, and Albany Medical Center is the only academic tertiary and quaternary care hospital in the Capital Region of New York. The Medical Center is embarking on a major growth campaign, and a new Patient Pavilion will be completed in 2013. Nestled between the Adirondack, Berkshire, and Catskill Mountains, Albany is just a few hours away from Montreal, Boston, and New York City. The Medical Center serves an upstate New York referral area of over 2.5 million people. The interested applicant is encouraged to visit the Medical Center's website (www.amc.edu/GreatPlace) for more information regarding the community and surrounding opportunities. Interested candidates may forward CVs and cover letters to the Chairman's office: Richard J. Blinkhorn, Jr., MD, FACP, Richard T. Beebe Professor and Chairman; E-mail: email@example.com; 518-262-8797. To learn more about the capital region, please visit: www.amc.edu/greatplace.
