The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an established independent investigator in cancer basic science/translational research at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. Responsibilities will include overseeing a robust laboratory research program, training surgical residents and postdoctoral fellows, and developing and sustaining ongoing collaborative relationships with research leadership throughout the department, the Human Genome Sequencing Center, and the College's basic science departments. The investigator's primary area of focus should be breast cancer; endocrine cancer; gastrointestinal cancer; hepatopancreaticobiliary cancer; lung cancer; melanoma; or sarcoma. Required Education and Experience: PhD and/or MD or DO is required; strong history of federal grant support, including current portable NIH funding; successful track record of collaboration with clinical investigators and in interdisciplinary teams; successful track record of training students and postdoctoral fellows; accomplished academic record sufficient to fulfill criteria for an Associate Professor or Professor level faculty appointment at Baylor College of Medicine.
