Job Details

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking applicants for the position of Chief of Neurology. Successful candidate will be a board-certified neurologist with at least seven years’ experience. A collaborative mindset, passion for exceptional patient care, and strategic focus will be essential. Responsibilities will include a 50/50 split of clinical and administrative time and oversight of 22 neurologists and 12 advanced practice clinicians. Our new chief will lead the division’s clinical operations, research and educational mission, hold a leadership position within the LVHN Neuroscience Service Line, and report directly to the Chair of Medicine. Academic appointment is available.

The Division of Neurology at LVHN has experienced significant growth and remarkable accomplishments during the last several years. LVHN has been a Joint Commission-Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center since 2012. The division developed a new section of neurocritical care in 2015 to support the care of patients in our 15-bed Neuroscience ICU; the team currently employs four fellowship-trained neurocritical care physicians. In July 2016, we welcomed the first class of residents into our fully accredited neurology residency program. Presently, we are expanding our telestroke and teleneurology programs within the LVHN network and beyond.

At LVHN, the neurology team is supported by all major subspecialties including epilepsy surgery. Other hallmarks of our division include specialized programs in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders; the Comprehensive Headache and Facial Pain Center; a Level 4 Epilepsy Center; the Lehigh Valley Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Center, and the Comprehensive ALS Center of the Lehigh Valley.

The 800-bed main campus of LVHN is located one hour north of Philadelphia and 90 minutes west of NYC. Within a 50-mile radius, LVHN has six hospital campuses and a growing primary care referral base. The area we serve is one of the fastest growing regions in Pennsylvania, offering a blend of suburban charm and urban sophistication along with excellent schools and affordable housing.
