Ventura County Medical Center has an immediate opening for a full-time provider to join our Infectious Disease department. The ideal candidate should be interested in ongoing clinical education for a UCLA-affiliated Family Medicine residency program as well as providing infectious disease care in both the hospital and outpatient setting. Hospital coverage shall be comprised of approximately 75% inpatient duties (consultations, stewardship, resident teaching) and 25% outpatient duties (clinic). Depending on the interests and experience of the candidate, there will be excellent opportunities for participation and potential leadership in resident micro rounds, antimicrobial stewardship, and hospital epidemiology. Unique and challenging Infectious Disease cases are seen at the county hospital on a regular basis. Compensation is competitive and malpractice is included. The candidate should be BC/BE in Infectious Diseases. Ventura County Health Care System is comprised of two hospitals located in Ventura, CA and Santa Paula, CA. The Ventura County Medical Center is a Level II Trauma Center, one of only two in the county. In addition, our health care system is comprised of a network of primary and specialty care clinics, including 19 Federally Qualified Health Centers, 12 licensed clinics, and seven urgent care centers, providing more than half a million visits per year. Our excellent primary care physicians handle nearly all routine care, leaving our specialists with the most interesting cases.
