Cleveland Clinic invites highly qualified Board Eligible/Certified Interventional Radiology candidates to join our faculty as we continue to develop our clinical practice and facilities.  Cleveland Clinic, an internationally renowned mid-western sub-specialty medical center, is comprised of a 1400+ bed main hospital, ambulatory care facilities, and research institute.

There are eight additional community hospitals integrated into the IR practice. The Interventional Section has a long history of exceptional care for patients with Vascular, Hepatobiliary, Gastrointestinal, Renal and Oncologic diseases.  Diagnostic imaging and interventional equipment are state-of-the-art, including 6 angiography labs and an active MRA/ CTA program.  There is an interventional radiology clinic, which is staffed by 5 IR nurse practitioners/physicians assistants as well as a radiology assistant. More than 12,000 interventional procedures are performed annually.

A wide spectrum of peripheral vascular, organ specific and transplant related vascular interventions are routinely performed. Gastrointestinal and genitourinary interventional procedures are common and include diagnostic cholangiography, transhepatic biliary drainage, TIPS creation, percutaneous gastrostomy and nephrostomy placement, ureteral stenting and percutaneous stone extraction. There is an active transcatheter therapeutic program including uterine fibroid embolization, hepatic chemoembolization, hepatic radioembolization and arteriovenous malformation embolization/ sclerosis.  The Section also performs ablative procedures of soft-tissue tumors.

The section provides image-guided tunneled vascular access services and is responsible for the maintenance of hemodialysis access for the institution.

Clinical and basic science research opportunities exist and facilities include a full angio-animal laboratory.  The Section has use of a fully staffed and professionally managed Radiology research group within the Imaging Institute which coordinates and supports clinical research and trials.

There are 3 ACGME approved fellowship positions; resident and fellow education is emphasized.

Staff candidates should have training in peripheral vascular intervention, TIPS, hepatobiliary, genitourinary, embolotherapy, venous interventions, tumor therapies and dialysis access procedures.
