The Medical Care Line at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC) and the Section of General Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) seek a leader for the growing section of hospital medicine at the MEDVAMC. This position also involves possible leadership opportunities across several Baylor affiliated hospitalist programs. The Houston VA is the largest VA in the country with the highest complexity of clinical services and is a major site for medical education. The Houston VA also has considerable new resources for patient care, including the recent investment in a nine-member academic hospitalist team. Furthermore, the affiliated Health Services Research Center of Excellence makes the MEDVAMC an attractive site for a hospitalist clinician-investigator. The ideal candidate will have a record of scholarly productivity in areas to include health services/outcomes research, education, or quality improvement. Prior leadership and mentoring experience essential; prior VA experience a plus. This will be a 5/8ths VA position. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Of note, we are also seeking a junior faculty hospitalist clinician-investigator, with protected time and research involvement within the section of health service research. Please submit a cover letter, CV, and a list of three references. Interested applicants should forward their contacts and CV to: Mrs. Jessica L. Creal (Jessica.email@example.com); 713-791-1414 ext. 5767.
