Pathology Opportunity

Medical Doctor Associates (MDA) is seeking a full time ongoing Pathologist starting ASAP to cover a primary facility and a secondary one 10 minutes away.  The facilities are located in central western part of Georgia.  Must be licensed in Georgia.

The Group sees about 10,000-12,000 surgicals annually.  Larger specimens comprise about 10% of the surgical volume.  The microscope is Olympus.  There are no GYN cytologies, non-GYN cytologies average about 20/week.  There are 1-2 frozens daily.  The histotech cuts during work hours and the pathologists cut after hours.  The cryostat is a Leica.  The Group handles about 5 bone marrows per week.  Autopsies are minimal in number.  Clinical lab responsibility:  just occasional clinical pathology assistance, eg. Review of peripheral smears and consult with clinicians on other lab work. 

Typical work day is 8a-5p.  The lab uses Meditech, LIS + EMR.  For dictation of cases, they use I-Net; Dragon.  Cases are sent to Emory for consult. 

Compensation is weekly direct deposit.  MDA will pay for and make all travel arrangements. Medical Doctor Associates provides A++ Professional Malpractice Insurance.
