Emergency Medicine
Position Type
Prestigious teaching hospital nestled in the rolling green hills of the Harrisburg - Hershey - Lancaster metropolitan area seeks a Emergency Medicine physician for a brand new, state-of-the art pediatric emergency room. This is a mission-driven organization focused on patient-centered care, and no detail has been overlooked in making the hospital user-friendly to children and families. The Peds ED is a 12-bed specialty unit nested within the adult ER, handling approx. 22,000 pediatric visits per year. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a broad variety of presentations, including medflight arrivals and trauma, from a large geographic catchment area. Teaching is an integral part of this role and there are opportunities for research, publishing, and program development as the department continues to expand. Since the unit opened, demand has resulted in rapid growth, creating a greater than anticipated staffing need with skyrocketing referrals. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor and grow a program at a brand-name institution. The hospital, ancillary services and outpatient care centers are centrally located on one beautiful green campus with onsite childcare, a fitness center, jogging trails and abundant parking. Once you work and live here, you won't want to leave.
