The Hospitalist will serve as attending on the inpatient hematology/oncology inpatient service at the UC Davis Medical Center. The Hospitalist will serve as the attending of record for inpatient service and provide supervision and teaching of internal medicine house staff and work in close collaborations with hematology/ oncology fellows and faculty. The 100% full-time Hospitalist position consists of total employment time of 215 days per year. 186 Days are for work to be performed on the inpatient service or other duties as needed by the division, five days are included for CME, and 24 days for vacation. A minimum of 20 days of vacation will be scheduled in advance so that work schedules can be created equitably and time can be entered on the leave and attendance timekeeping systems. During their work day, hospitalists must be immediately available to provide direct and hands-on supervision to interns/house staff within 10 minutes. Other duties may be assigned to hospitalists to cover Hem/Onc services and/or provide direct patient care as needed.

A separate volunteer clinical faculty appointment will be required to allow the incumbent to supervise and interact with medical students and residents.

The candidate must possess an MD degree, be board-eligible in Internal Medicine, and possess a California medical license at the start of employment. Candidate must have completed Boards successfully within two years of employment.
