JOB SUMMARY:

The Center for Pharmacy Innovation and Outcomes (CPIO) has a team dedicated to facilitating the evaluation, dissemination, and implementation of innovative approaches to pharmaceutical care within real-world healthcare environments. The CPIO’s research focuses on population health, pharmacy patient care models and system process redesign, medication adherence and utilization, applied pharmacogenomics, specialty medications, and pain and addiction.

 

The Project Manager II will serve in the lead role for management of population based and clinical research projects including protocol development, project planning, team management, project tracking, and data collection and assisting in the creation of final reports and publications. Secondary responsibilities include assisting with the development and management of new projects and assisting with new proposals for research and for presentation to funding sources.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*1. Administration:
*a. Works with senior and clinical researchers and research team to implement funded studies.
*b. Responsible for regulatory documents (IRB) and annual reports.
*c. Develops and manages study budgets.

*2. Study Implementation:
*a. Develops implementation and management protocols for funded projects.
*b. Responsible for leading implementation of a project plan and for overall project
management including directing and mentoring the Project Manager I, management of the study team, progress tracking and reporting, quality control, and research support staff
training and management.
*c. Serves as coordinator of project-related activities to meet project goals and milestones, based on study design.

*3. Communication and Supervision:
*a. Communicates resource needs, issues, project status and milestones met to project
team and project leader.
*b. Develops and delivers study specific material (e.g., tracking logs, templates,
monitoring tools, study binders, process manuals).
*c. Hires, trains and supervises project staff.
*d. Aids in preparation of final reports and manuscripts for publication.
*e. Handles sensitive project issues and provides resolution.

4. Science and Analysis:
*a. Coordinate with the data analyst in managing data and implementing quality control procedures.
b. Assists in writing proposals for funded studies.

5. Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects and project staff.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior colleagues to meet demanding project timelines.

Demonstrated experience with software (word-processing, PowerPoint, and spreadsheet
required; some experience with SAS preferred).

Demonstrated strong project management, analytical and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks.

Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills
(interpersonal communication and technological effectiveness competencies).

Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with multidisciplinary teams.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree in Public Health or related field required.

Minimum of 3-5 years project management experience required.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is typically performed in an office environment.
