Faculty Position Aging and Cardiovascular System
The University of Michigan Medical School seeks tenure track faculty (Assistant-Full Professor, MD, PhD, or MD/PhD) whose research is relevant to aging and cardiovascular system as part of a new program on cardiovascular aging. The new Michigan Biology of Cardiovascular Aging (MBOCA) program is an inter-departmental program designed for enhancing collaborative research in the area of aging, the cardiovascular system, and cardiovascular diseases. Areas of interest include vascular biology, cardiac and myocardial function, metabolism, and intersection of inflammation, obesity, and vascular diseases. Basic science, translational science, health science, and clinical research areas are of interest. Successful candidates will be expected to develop competitive extramural funding programs in the area of cardiovascular aging. The University of Michigan has great strengths in biogerontology, geriatrics, metabolism, health sciences, and cardiovascular research with strong infrastructure and cores including a Glenn Center on Aging, and a Pepper Center and an Alzheimer’s Disease Center.
Depending on expertise, candidates may have a primary appointment in a clinical department or a basic science department and may be eligible for a position in the Institute of Gerontology.
