Seeking MD and/or PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) candidates with advanced training and/or experience in medical science teaching and scholarship. The Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso was LCME accredited in 2008 to open a new four-year medical school with a clinically oriented and highly integrated medical science curriculum. Minimum Qualifications: PhD, MD, or equivalent terminal degree in the biomedical sciences (MD candidates without a PhD in a relevant biomedical science must have additional credentials related to advanced scientific training and scholarship in one of the areas listed above). Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with the following additional attributes (in order of priority): Applicants who are licensed, actively practicing, and Board Certified (ABMS recognized) MDs with a PhD or equivalent advanced degree (only licensable ABP AP/CP certified candidates will be considered as candidates for the pathology medical educator position). PhD candidates (with or without and MD) with experience in clinical settings and/or clinical translational research. Expertise in and experience teaching in one or more of the medical science disciplines listed above. A substantial record of success as a biomedical science educator and scholar (consistent with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or higher). Physician candidates applying for the Clinician Medical Educator Track must be Board Certified (ABMS recognized), qualify for an unrestricted Texas Medical License, and must agree to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License within two years of employment. All other candidates will be considered under the Basic Science Medical Educator Track. These medical educator positions are salaried and fully funded.
