The University of Miami, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases has an opening for an Assistant/Associate Professor level. The physician will work with the other ID transplant physicians in the Division of Infectious Diseases with responsibilities including providing direct patient care to adult outpatients in the Miami Transplant Institute and to adult inpatients at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He/she will also be involved with undergraduate and graduate medical education. The incumbent will attend multidisciplinary transplant conferences and rounds.

Scholarly activities to include peer-reviewed publications and independent investigation in incumbents area of interest. Participation in divisional and departmental common activities such as attendance at conferences and shared committee memberships is required.

Qualifications require awarded degree of MD or DO from an ABIM recognized internal medicine residency; valid ABIM Certification in Infectious Diseases; valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply.

Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements; must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience, especially in transplant infectious diseases, to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care; must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, patients, and family members; must demonstrate the ability to meet responsibilities of the position; specialized training in transplant infectious diseases after ID fellowship highly desired; experience working and teaching in academic setting highly desired.
