The Anesthesiology Department at Alameda Health System will welcome your ability to synergize groups of clinicians without curtailing their scope of practice. With your proactive approach you can orchestrate a piece-by-piece invigoration of all aspects of the Department of Anesthesiology, unifying groups into a high performance team that will improve the quality of care delivery, enhance medical training, and bring prosperous health to the community.

As an ideal candidate you:

  • Have five or more years of experience in management and a strong track record of leadership in the field of Anesthesia, supported with a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree and outstanding clinical capabilities as an anesthesiologist.
  • Possess team-building and persuasive people managing abilities that dynamically lead, motivate, and empower colleagues to align on a vision, effectively implement changes, and upgrade practices.
  • Detect with accuracy where innovation is needed, give effective recommendations to redesign policies, standing orders, and techniques.
  • Excel at developing and implementing initiatives that integrate interdepartmental programs to augment team care methods, recruit and retain high quality talent from prestigious organizations like Stanford or UCSF, and mentor a dependable and unshakable team.
  • Teach in the hospital’s highly regarded residency programs.
  • Assist with the incorporation of technology for more efficient charting and billing practices and with the preparation of annual budgetary planning.
  • Interface and consult regularly with other departments to ensure timely and quality anesthetic coverage and a consistent cordial and professional working environment.
  • Monitor continually the quality of patient care and the efficacy of all improvements and advancements in administrative and clinical operations as well as their repercussions within the department and on adjacent departments or units.
  • Possess a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California, and a Board Certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
