CHIEF OF INTERNAL MEDICINE, CHELMSFORD, MASSACHUSETTS

Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a practice of Atrius Health, seeks a Chief of Internal Medicine for our Chelmsford practice. Our practices are located throughout the greater Boston area and our physicians are on staff of Boston's academic medical centers and community hospitals. The Chief will provide clinical leadership for a team of 12 internists and six APCs. S/he is responsible for aligning clinical activities for the implementation of mission-specific strategies and tactics, and works collaboratively with colleagues, staff, management, and the community. This position is outpatient only, has both clinical and administrative responsibilities and reports to the Specialty Director of Internal Medicine. The Chelmsford office is a community-based multispecialty practice that serves a diverse patient population, offers on-site pharmacy, lab and radiology services, and affiliates with Boston Children's Hospital and Lowell General Hospital. Located about 45 minutes north of Boston, living options in the area include a wide range of largely suburban and rural settings in surrounding MA communities and southern NH. The area offers a convenient drive to Boston for arts and cultural activities, and to beaches, mountains, and lakes in NH, Vermont, and Maine to the north. Must be BC in Internal Medicine, with 3+ years of clinical experience, and have a proven track record of physician management. The ideal candidate will be a well-respected clinician, an inquiring, analytic, and independent thinker, a mentor for junior staff, and possess the ability to engage staff. Passionate about continuous improvement in a large collaborative practice is key to the successful applicant.
