  Geisinger Heart Institute at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), located in Danville, Pa., is seeking a BC/BE Clinical Electrophysiologist with experience in device implantation and advanced ablations to join our electrophysiology team.

 

Join as the third electrophysiologist on a well-established and nationally recognized cardiology team in Geisinger’s central region.  This electrophysiology group works locally and regionally alongside 22 adult cardiologists, 12 cardiology advanced practitioners and 5 cardiothoracic surgeons.  The team broadens to a system-wide group consisting of 72 cardiologists, including 8 electrophysiologist, 46 cardiology advanced practitioners and 15 cardiothoracic surgeons. 

 

Cardiology at GMC

•Cardiology care is delivered within the Hospital for Advanced Medicine (HfAM), a contemporary 9-story, 300,000-square-foot facility.  Within the HfAM, the 5th floor is home to the outpatient clinic and device practice, the 3rd floor to the EP suites and EP observation rooms and the 7th and 8th floors to cardiac inpatient beds. 

•Electrophysiologists operate in two state-of-the-art laboratories, including a bi-plane lab with all the technology to perform even the most complex ablations.

•Over 265 ablation procedures and 440 device implantations performed annually

•Cardiology fellowship program with electrophysiology subspecialty fellowship training program

•Research opportunities available including internal funding and possibility of protected research time

•The program is up-to-date and offers virtually all EP procedure opportunities and will grow to include Watchman implantations in late 2016

•Geisinger’s MyCode genomic study has recruited >100k participants for whole exome sequencing with a goal of 250k recruits and is actively studying cardiac conditions including HCM, LQTS and ARVC.
