LOCATION: MARWORTH Psychiatrist -Associate Medical Director, Geisinger Marworth Psychiatry, Behavioral and Addiction Medicine Addiction is a multifaceted and chronic disease requiring integrated resources to manage. The position is responsible for the maintenance and development of services at Geisinger Marworth’s inpatient addiction facility. The position works with other medical staff, as well as nursing and counseling staff, to care for patients in the facility. Geisinger is an integrated delivery system, bringing all of these resources to implement our vision to employ them in a manner that improves population level outcomes for patients with a substance use disorder. Becoming a member of the Geisinger addiction services team will provide an opportunity to lead and develop the programmatic development of addiction services. The position will also this position would have primary medical responsibility for the health care professional program, which involves some marketing and constant refinement, and will report to Medial Director of Geisinger Marworth. This position is also the program director for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship program. This was one of the very first accredited fellowship programs in the country. As Addiction Medicine moves into the house of medicine, with American Board of Medical Specialty recognition, and then Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education recognition becomes possible, this position will be responsible to fulfill the requirements for accreditation.
Qualifications: BC in Psychiatry. Graduate of accredited Medical School with a current medical license for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and current Buprenorphine waiver for DEA. Must hold at least one of the following:
Current Addiction certification from American Board of Preventative Medicine Current certification by American Board of Addiction Medicine Current Addiction Psychiatry accreditation by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
Program Development. This position will be responsible for leading the addiction medicine fellowship program through ACGME certification.
