  Geisinger is seeking hematology/oncology physicians focused on providing the best possible patient experience. Joining our team means that you’ll have access to the latest technology to diagnose and treat cancer. This highly motivated team utilizes a personalized, innovative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care with a commitment to evidence-based practice and evaluation of outcomes. The hematology/oncology team collaborates with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and psychologists to develop a plan tailored to the individual patient to achieve the best possible outcome. Geisinger’s oncology research programs are anchored by the NCI Community Oncology Research Program cooperative agreement and the national commitment to cancer research in community settings. Geisinger has membership affiliations with Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, Children’s Oncology Group, EGOG-ACRIN, NRG Oncology, University of Rochester Cancer Center and Wake Forest. Palliative medicine services are also offered at each campus. Working with Geisinger’s Department of Oncology Innovation and Analytics, physicians have the opportunity to participate in the development of unique models of care, clinical tools and other research projects. At Geisinger, there is the opportunity to teach, to mentor and to be mentored.  

Geisinger is looking for board-certified physicians in hematology and/or oncology who are interested in malignant hematology, breast cancer and general hematology/oncology. The position involves inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities. The infusion room at GMC is staffed by a seasoned group of oncology-certified nurses. The FACT-accredited Bone Marrow Transplant Program is based at the Danville location. The team is supported by a number of advanced practitioners, nurse navigators and case managers. GMC has QOPI, ACoS, NAPBC and ACR accreditations.

GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER: (GMC), located Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region’s only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women’s health (in the Women’s Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics. The Hospital for Advanced Medicine serves as an integrated center for the most critical patients. Outpatient services are available on and off campus.
