Joining our team means that you’ll have access to the latest technology to diagnose and treat cancer. This highly motivated team utilizes a personalized, innovative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care with a commitment to evidence-based practice and evaluation of outcomes. The hematology/oncology team collaborates with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and psychologists to develop a plan tailored to the individual patient to achieve the best possible outcome. Geisinger’s oncology research programs are anchored by the NCI Community Oncology Research Program cooperative agreement and the national commitment to cancer research in community settings. Geisinger has membership affiliations with Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, Children’s Oncology Group, EGOG-ACRIN, NRG Oncology, University of Rochester Cancer Center and Wake Forest. Palliative medicine services are also offered at each campus. Working with Geisinger’s Department of Oncology Innovation and Analytics, physicians have the opportunity to participate in the development of unique models of care, clinical tools and other research projects. At Geisinger, there is the opportunity to teach, to mentor and to be mentored.
Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) – Scranton, PAGCMC is seeking physicians who are dually certified in hematology and oncology to join Geisinger’s newest cancer care site. The facility opened in October 2016 and is located within GCMC. Physicians may participate in the development of unique models of care, clinical tools and other research projects. The team at GCMC is supported by advanced practitioners, nurse navigators and an infusion room staffed by oncology-certified nurses.
