The Division of Cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, is seeking an ABIM board certified cardiac electrophysiologist with at least three years of post-training clinical experience to join our academic practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to continue to build and grow the EP service.
The Division of Cardiology at UTMB serves Galveston county and beyond through exemplary cardiology care, education, and clinical research. UTMB was founded in 1891 as the first medical school in the state of Texas. The new Jennie Sealy Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility with over 450 beds, and the primary university hospital. There is also a new UTMB community hospital in League City, Texas that has a multi-purpose procedure room that can accommodate EP procedures.
The candidate should be proficient in EP procedures including cardiac device implantation, diagnostic EP studies, and cardiac ablations with emphasis on complex ablations such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. The candidate should have outstanding communication skills and be able to network with the referring physicians. The primary focus will be on clinical growth; however, the candidate will also participate in teaching and research initiatives. There is no Visa waiver program available at this time.
