Neurointensivists – Charlotte market – Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center (600+ beds, eight new dedicated neuro-ICU beds, and one of JCAHO top US Hospitals earning the distinction in quality and performance measures. PMC has been a JCAHO certified  Primary Stroke center since 2006. Recipient of Gold Plus and Target Stroke Honor Roll in 2014 from AHA/ASA. Recipient of Gold Plus and Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus in 2015. Neurointerventional radiologists available for endovascular stroke, brain aneurysm intervention 24/7.

We are currently seeking neurointensivists to join a start-up program with a heavy concentration in neurovascular and stroke at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in uptown Charlotte, NC. This position offers a neuro ICU-only based opportunity with a focus on multidisciplinary critical care including postoperative neurosurgical/neuroendovascular intensive care unit (neuro ICU) management. The neurosurgical/neuroendovascular patient population includes stroke, cerebrovascular disease, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intraventricular hemorrhage, Chiari malformation, trigeminal neuralgia, brain tumors including pituitary and acoustic tumors, treated by both traditional open neurosurgical and minimally invasive neuroendovascular techniques. There is currently no trauma program. Clinical APC support will be offered. All neurocritical care RNs are NIH stroke scale certified and are experienced. The neuro-intensivists will be expected to lead daily multidisciplinary ICU rounds, supervise APCs, participate in critical care staff continuing education, and become an active part of the medical community. The applicant will also have the opportunity to play an active role in the development of a comprehensive stroke center in Charlotte.

Qualifications include fellowship training as a neuro intensive or neurocritical care physician with BC/BE through the practice track pathway of an ABMS approved program. The applicant must hold or have the ability to gain an NC medical license.

Neurointensivists – Winston Salem market – Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center (900+ beds includes a JCAHO certified Comprehensive Stroke program with a 26-bed stroke and neuroscience unit with a 10-bed neuro ICU and a 10-bed stepdown neuro ICU. The units are managed by a team of fellowship trained neuro-intensivists. This was the first Primary Stroke center in NC certified by JCAHO and a recipient of the prestigious Get with the Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement Award for the past four years. Neurointerventional radiologists and Neuroendovascular/Neurovascular Neurosurgeons available for endovascular stroke, brain aneurysm intervention as well as open brain aneurysm clipping 24/7.

This position offers a neuro ICU-only based opportunity with a focus on multidisciplinary critical care including postoperative neurosurgical/neuroendovascular intensive care unit (neuro ICU) management. This opportunity offers you a chance to be part of a team of five neurologists and APCs who are committed to growing this program to the highest level. The neurosurgical/neuroendovascular patient population includes stroke, cerebrovascular disease, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intraventricular hemorrhage, Chiari malformation, trigeminal neuralgia, brain tumors including pituitary and acoustic tumors, treated by both traditional open neurosurgical and minimally invasive neuroendovascular techniques. There is currently no trauma program.
