Medical Doctor Associates (MDA) is seeking an Hospitalist Physicians for an ongoing locum tenens assignment in New Mexico. Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM). 

We are looking for providers that can have availability that provides continuity of care of at least 3-5 days in a row; available to work days and/or nights. Current situation: Plains Regional is currently down 2 FTE’s. Schedule: 2 Day Providers | 7a-7p | Admits, Rounding and Discharges 1 In House Night | 6p-6a | Provides cross coverage and helps with admits

Number of physicians in clinic/program: 6 providers
Support staff: Cardiology | Nephrology | Urology | Pulmonology | Orthopedics | Oncology I Podiatry | OB/GNY | Surgical
Procedures: Central Lines and intubations preferred but not required
Patient mix: 8 Bed ICU | 22 General Medical beds | 6 Cardiac observation beds | 29 General Surgical beds
Who handles codes: Hospitalist or ER provider and the hospitalist assists (depends on who gets to the code first).
Who handles admits: Hospitalist handles admits, rounding, surgical consults, and discharges.
ICU involvement: Open ICU
Patient census: 10-15 Per Hospitalist
Credentialing time frame: 60-90 Days
