Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Precision Medicine/Genomic Medicine
Columbia University's Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology and New York Presbyterian Hospital invite applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine to expand the human genetic and precision medicine programs in clinical cardiovascular diseases.
The successful candidate will have:
- Training in human cardiovascular genetics,
- Experience in clinical genetics of cardiovascular disease,
- Passion to build a clinical program and clinical/genetic research for important heritable cardiovascular traits, e.g., arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, dyslipidemias, etc.
- Strong clinical credentials, teaching qualifications, and team clinical/research experience.
Candidates should have MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent doctoral training. The candidate must be board certified or board eligible in internal medicine and Cardiology or Clinical Genetics and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York. Experience is required in constitutional clinical genetics, return and clinical utilization/implementation of genetic information, genomic bioinformatics, or genotype-driven phenotyping or clinical trials. Responsibilities will include direct patient care, the supervision and teaching of house staff (residents and fellows) and medical students, and participation in Departmental activities.
