American College of Physicians (ACP) invites applications for the position of Senior Vice President, Medical Education. ACP is the nation's largest medical specialty society with 148,000 members. The Senior Vice President oversees the Medical Education Division and is responsible for a variety of educational programs, publications, products, and services, including ACP's Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP), In Training Exam (ITE), the annual scientific meeting, and awarded grants. We are seeking a proven leader who can produce innovative and dynamic medical education programs. The successful candidate will havea broad understanding of the continuum of medical education from training throughout a professional career; educational trends; and professional requirements such as certification, CME, and maintenance of certification. Successful candidates must possess an MD or DO with board certification in internal medicine and experience in these areas: Extensive experience in medical, graduate medical, and continuing medical education in traditional and non-traditional settings; Development or significant contribution to medical knowledge products and services in print and electronic form; Ability to foster and maintain relationships with organizations such as AAIM, SGIM, ABIM, and SHM, as well as subspecialties of internal medicine; Fiscal management, business development, and collaborative planning with staff as well as outside organizations; Ability to obtain external funding, e.g., from foundations, government, and industry.
