Chief of Congenital Heart Surgery - TEXAS

The candidate should be board certified or board eligible in cardiothoracic surgery. Certification in congenital heart surgery is a plus, but is not mandatory. He/she should be an experienced surgeon with demonstrated exceptional surgical and interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.

The Congenital Heart Surgery Program performed more than 340 operative procedures in 2014 and enjoys a wide and growing referral base in South and West Texas. The candidate will be joining a senior congenital heart surgeon with over 20 years of experience in the field. He/she will be working with a growing pediatric cardiology group of ten cardiologists. Dedicated and highly-skilled cardiac anesthesiologists cover all surgical cases.

The hospital is currently building a new children's tower which will include a dedicated Cardiovascular ICU and Telemetry area. The candidate will be expected to be involved in its design and implementation.
